At Nikki’s Tattoo Studio in Matthews, NC, we believe your tattoo experience should feel comfortable, private, and professional. From the moment you walk in, you’ll notice our studio feels more like a relaxing salon than a typical tattoo shop. Nikki Thompson is currently the only artist at the studio. After 29 yrs of a full house, this is just a better fit for her now.

All tattoo rooms are private to ensure your comfort and confidentiality. Our studio is adults-only to maintain a calm, focused atmosphere where our artists can give you their full attention. Our all-female team values your time, providing a professional, on-time experience without unnecessary waiting.

Clean, Safe, and Certified

Your safety is our top priority. Each artist completes annual bloodborne pathogen training, and our equipment is tested bi-weekly for sterilization. We’re fully inspected and permitted by the Mecklenburg County Health Department, with sharps safely disposed of through an incineration program.

Nikki doesn't  allow loitering—our clients come here for art, appointments, and tattoos. That way, every visit is welcoming and distraction-free. Many of our clients become like family, trusting us for a clean, safe, and comfortable tattoo experience.

A LITTLE ABOUT OUR OWNER NIKKI THOMPSON

Niki started tattooing in 1991 and by 1995 opened Nikki's Tattoo Studio in Charlotte NC. At the time, this was Charlotte's first "female owned and operated studio" in Charlotte and Nikki was the only female tattoo artist for 8 years! Nikki enjoys tattooing things from nature the most, but specializes in scar cover and repair by camouflage or cover with a tattoo. In 2003 she added cosmetic services like eyebrow, eyeliner, full lip, areola restoration, microneedling and SMP.
